What Blood Test Is Required Before the Insertion?Certified BioTE providers require extensive lab work while considering a patient’s candidacy for BHRT using pellets. A provider will discuss the results with a patient before moving forward with pellet therapy.
What Happens During the In-Office Insertion?During the in-office visit, which only takes a few minutes, patients are brought into the exam room, and the insertion site is numbed. The most common site of insertion is the upper buttocks. A small incision is then made for pellet insertion. Once the pellet is inserted, the insertion site is covered with a small bandage.
What Happens During the Week Following the Insertion?After pellet insertion, it's best to eliminate lower body exercise. Walking should be fine, but extraneous activity is not recommended. Swimming, hot tubs, and bathtubs are to be avoided; however, showers are permitted. After removal of the bandage, normal activity may resume.
How Often Is Pellet Insertion Necessary?As each patient’s symptoms are unique, so is each patient’s path to hormone optimization. Each pellet therapy is customized to fit a patient’s specific needs.

Candidates for Nonsurgical Vaginal Rejuvenation
Do you suffer from painful sexual intercourse or stress urinary incontinence? Some providers recommend pelvic floor exercises or other at-home remedies to strengthen the vaginal area. Other times, invasive surgery is recommended to restore the tissue. To be considered a candidate for FemiLift treatment, patients need to have a recent gynecologic exam. How We Perform Laser Vaginal Tightening

To begin nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation, a thin FemiLift probe is inserted into the vagina. There is generally no need for sedatives or anesthesia since this treatment, typically, does not cause pain or discomfort. The probe has 360-degree rotation capability and delivers pulses of laser energy in precise, controlled amounts. Alex Weekley, FNP-C can perform the procedure in less than 15 minutes.

How Many FemiLift Treatments are Needed Before I See Results?
A Series of 3 treatments, performed approximately 4 weeks apart, is generally recommended for best results. The treatment typically lasts up to 24 months, at which time a maintenance treatment is done to preserve vaginal integrity.

Spider veins are more than a simple cosmetic problem. They can ache, itch, burn, or throb, and they’re frequently responsible for sleeping difficulty. These veins may also be a superficial indication of a deeper problem. Sclerotherapy is considered the gold standard of venous health therapies, and Timeless Medispa is highly trained in all injection therapies, including sclerotherapy.

How Does Sclerotherapy Work?

Spider veins are tiny veins, usually less than 1 mm, presenting red, blue, or purple in color. They do not cause swelling or pain, and generally don’t contribute to other health issues. They can, however, become varicose veins, which are much larger and can cause discomfort, blood clots or poor wound healing. It’s important to treat spider veins to avoid future complications.

Sclerotherapy is the FDA-approved treatment of choice for spider veins, and it is minimally invasive. A sclerosing agent is directly injected into the vein via a tiny needle to irritate the lining of the vein, causing scar tissue to form or venous collapse. Either outcome seals the veins, at which point the body reabsorbs them and blood flow is redirected to healthier veins. Multiple sessions may be required to reduce all the problematic veins in the treatment area. Not only are the veins’ appearance diminished, but pain and other side effects these damaged veins cause are also greatly reduced.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Several criteria are considered when assessing a patient’s candidacy for sclerotherapy, including a complete medical history and consideration of vascular issues. Typical sclerotherapy patients have realistic expectations of the results, including the understanding that treatment does not stop future spider veins from forming. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are not ideal candidates. Patients are generally between 30 and 60 years old and are able to follow detailed care instructions.

How Long Does a Typical Treatment Last?

While it depends on the number of injections necessary to treat a patient’s spider veins, typically appointments last 30-60 minutes. Patients tolerate the procedure well and without anesthesia.

How Quickly Will I See Results?*

Reduction in the appearance of veins takes place over 4-6 weeks, and patients generally require 3-5 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart. Larger veins may take 3-4 months to show a definitive reduction. Sclerotherapy has a success rate of 60-80% reduction in treated veins.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is no extensive recovery or downtime. Many patients are immediately able to return to work the same day. Compression socks may be recommended after your sclerotherapy session, and ibuprofen or aspirin should be avoided as they can interfere with the clotting process. Staying active will reduce the chance of clots, though high impact exercise shouldn’t be attempted until a few days after your procedure. Tell your practitioner about any travel plans that include flying.

PLASMA FIBROBLAST SKIN TIGHTENING THERAPY
Plasma fibroblast therapy, or plasma skin resurfacing, is a nonsurgical treatment that may be used to treat the following conditions:

• Acne scars
• Photo aging, dark spots, including age spots
• Seborrheic keratosis
• Wrinkled skin, including the eyelids, neck, jawline, and above the lips

What is plasma fibroblast therapy?

Plasma fibroblast therapy targets fibroblasts. These are  collagen and protein-producing cells in the dermis, the layer of skin just below your outermost skin layer.Fibroblasts play an important role in helping skin wounds heal as well as maintaining skin firmness and tightness.Plasma fibroblast therapy uses a pen-like device that discharges a high-frequency electric current to small areas of the skin.The plasma tip doesn’t directly touch the skin, but instead releases a targeted current just above the skin. The hot current creates small holes, or micro-injuries, in the skin’s layer.
The thermal disruption, or heat damage, from plasma fibroblast therapy:

• breaks down proteins in the skin
• encourages tissue regeneration
• stimulates fibroblast activity
• causes tissue contraction (tightening)

Does it work?

When plasma fibroblast therapy is performed in a safe, controlled environment, it can:

• improve skin texture
• offer mild-to-moderate skin tightening effects
• result in some degree of skin facial contour change

 The effects are expected to stimulate fibroblast production for up to 1 year after treatment.
What’s the procedure like?While the procedure may vary slightly based on where you’re having the treatment, the basic steps typically include:

• Cleansing the skin and applying a topical anesthetic (numbing) cream. You may need to wait about 30 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect.
• Treating the designated skin area with the plasma pen. The pen will create small arcs of microcurrents that make small scab-like dots on the skin.
• A professional will remove the numbing cream and apply a cooling gel to minimize the tingling and burning sensation whenever possible.

The procedure usually takes about 30 to 60 minutes to perform.

Recovery

Once the procedure is completed, you can expect the small dots to scab over and fall off after about 1 week. Over the next couple of weeks, as your skin heals, it should appear tighter and firmer.Some people may see benefits from one treatment, while others may require three treatments before they see results.
